BIOGRAPHY

THE BEGINNING

In 2009, musicians Jaeme Brennan McDonald and Nate Fountain were tasked with performing a live version of Purple Rain for a Prince/Michael Jackson tribute. The event was so successful that the pair drafted plans to bring an authentic representation of Prince's music to more audiences without resorting to gimmicks. It was their mission to be "hired or sued" by Prince.

PRINCE ROGERS NELSON: 1958-2016

Prince died tragically on April 21, 2016, 31 years to the day that he recorded the song "Sometimes It Snows in April". The song tells the tale of Christopher Tracy, one of his alter egos, who was taken from life far too soon.

Jaeme and a few of the musicians from the original 2009 event decided to stage another tribute in 2017 on the anniversary of his passing.

THE FIRST CELEBRATION: PRINCEVERSARY

On April 21, 2017, Purple Luscious Love debuted to a packed house in Hartford, CT. The nearly four-hour set covered the vastness of Prince's catalog and was a cathartic release for Prince fans from all over the New England region.
